Ghashful began its development journey amidst the tumultuous aftermath of the Liberation War in 1972. It holds the distinction of being the first registered NGO in Chattogram, Bangladesh, officially registered in 1978. Over the years, our organization has expanded its scope of activities through our Social Development Programs, encompassing diverse sectors such as Health, Education, Community Development & Livelihood, Social Rights & Advocacy, Food Security & Sustainable Agriculture, Water & Sanitation, Skills & Entrepreneurship Development, and Microfinance & Financial Inclusion. aiming to empower marginalized communities, with a particular focus on women and children. Our footprint extends across 443 Unions and 04 City Corporations, covering 55 Upazilas in 08 districts of Bangladesh. Over the years, we have successfully implemented more than 50 development projects, earning the trust of local communities, authorities, and establishing robust connections with local government bodies and institutions. We have a high reputation and recognition in national and global level for producing the Best Annual and Audit report, as we have been awarded by Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB), Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) and South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) in the year 2010, 2015, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2022. Ghashful Founder Shamsunnahar Rahman Paran (posthumous) has been awarded with the prestigious “Begum Rokeya Padak 2021” from Ministry of Women and Children Affairs of the Government of Bangladesh for her outstanding contribution to women empowerment and socioeconomic development. |
